About Jake:
I have been loving and singing music since before I could talk. I attribute any capacity I have for singing to my upbringing in a home where music was seamlessly woven into life, and many of the words spoken were set to music. I was highly influenced by the music of my parent's era, the 60s and 70s (beginning with the Beach Boys in my grade school years) As a middle-schooler, I rummaged through record collections around the house, and as a high school student I spent hours at thrift stores assembling a vast (and affordable) music collection. At 12, I abandoned piano lessons for the guitar because it served as a much more effective compliment to my voice and taste in music (I have always consider myself less an instrumentalist and more a singer). My interest and talent for performing the music I love has provided me over 15 years of active performing experience. This has included performing in bands, trios, duets, and as a solo artist. I have played hundreds of weddings, parties and business functions and have maintained steady engagements in cafes and restaurants in the past. My years of deep interest in music have afforded me a broad and rich repertoire of songs (more than a thousand). My prime audience is lovers of 60s and 70s rock, folk and easy listening. Whether I'm the show or the background music, chances are I will fit the bill!
